We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our journey of providing compassionate support and care to grieving children. As of April 1st, 2024, the Seasons Centre for Grieving Children and Hospice Simcoe have officially joined forces in a partnership that is designed to enhance and expand the range of services available to those experiencing grief and end-of-life care.
A New Chapter
This isn’t the end of the Seasons Centre book; it’s the beginning of a new chapter. Seasons Centre was founded on the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to grieve in a supportive and understanding environment. Our alliance with Hospice Simcoe strengthens that commitment. United, we offer a more comprehensive range of support services, enabling us to touch more lives and expand our community impact.
What This Means for Program Participants
All existing Seasons Centre programs will remain intact and accessible, with no interruption to the quality of care and familiar faces that you have come to know and trust. Going forward, caregivers and children seeking assistance will have access to an expanded team of bereavement professionals, ensuring a tailored care experience suited to each child’s needs. For those not yet familiar with the exceptional child and teen bereavement programs offered by Hospice Simcoe, we invite you to discover more about them here: Child & Teen Bereavement Programs.
A Message To Our Donors
Your commitment to the Seasons Centre cause has been the cornerstone of our impact within the community. As we embark on this next chapter and the demand for our services grows, your support becomes even more crucial. We are committed to keeping you informed about the impact of your generosity and ensuring that you have the opportunity to direct your contributions to the initiatives that resonate with you the most.
To illustrate the profound effect of your generosity, consider the story of 10-year-old Sabien. Sabien has been attending Seasons Centre’s peer support group grief sessions since the passing of his dad Ron in April 2020. In his own words:
“Hearing about other people’s grief helps me know that I am not going through this alone. I like attending Seasons because I like working out my grief, I get to exercise there, and I really like spending time with people I’ve made friends with there. I like seeing people there and talking about my loss because I think it helps.” Sabien Hill, Seasons Centre Participant
Looking Ahead
Thank you for your continued support and for being an integral part of our mission to provide children a space to heal and grow. Together with Hospice Simcoe, we are poised to set new standards in delivering care during life’s most challenging moments.

Frequently Asked Questions
I am currently enrolled or am the caregiver of someone enrolled in a program offered by Seasons Centre for Grieving Children. Does the partnership affect program participation in any way?
Not at all. All participants currently enrolled in programs will continue to attend without any interruptions – and the program location will remain unchanged.
I’m seeking information about a program, service, or volunteer opportunity currently available through grievingchildren.com. Who should I contact?
All contact points will remain the same, including phone numbers, websites, and digital contact forms.
Have there been any changes to the physical locations and/or hours of operation?
All of our locations continue to operate during their regular posted hours.
As an engaged donor or someone considering making a donation, what steps can I take to ensure my contribution is allocated to the cause of my choice?
We have established designations that allow you to direct your donation to the cause of your choice. Should you wish not to specify a designation, we will allocate your contribution to areas where it is most urgently needed.
