“I have learned that it is okay to be sad and confused and that I’m not the only person who feels this way, and I have learned multiple ways to let my grief out.” – Past Participant

Seasons Centre for Grieving Children is dedicated in Loving Memory of Samantha and Jessica Ramey.

Our mission is to provide no-cost, peer-based grief support for children, teens, and young adults in a caring, compassionate, and safe environment. We are committed to helping these young individuals navigate their grief, express their emotions, and build coping skills. By fostering a sense of community and understanding, we aim to mitigate the impact of grief and enable participants to find hope and resilience as they move forward with their lives.

Since its founding in 1995, Seasons Centre for Grieving Children has been a beacon of hope for grieving children and their families. The Centre was established in response to the growing need for specialized support for young people dealing with loss. Over the years, we have expanded our programs and services to meet the evolving needs of our community, always remaining focused on our core mission: to ensure that no child grieves alone. We are funded on the generosity of individuals, corporate, third party, signature event, grants, foundation and gifts from service clubs. We receive no government funding and do not charge a fee for families to utilize our services.

Grief journey stories

“Life can be full of surprises, both good and bad, and the greatest of these can sometimes be the most unexpected. I never truly understood all aspects of support until one day the world I once lived in collapsed around me and I was left with only one goal: to focus on my children’s well-being.

That’s when I discovered Seasons Centre Barrie. This organization provided invaluable support for my children, helping them to better understand their feelings and cope with the loss of their mother at such a young age. The staff were incredibly caring and devoted to helping my children gain the tools they needed to understand and embrace life. “Grieving though play”

Twelve years later, I am happy to say that my grown children have embraced life and are living happily. I am incredibly grateful to Season Centre Barrie for the help they provided to my children. Thank you Seasons Centre.”
