For Teens Ages 13-18
At Seasons Centre for Grieving Children, we recognize that the teenage years are a crucial time for developing coping mechanisms and emotional resilience.
Program Structure
Our teen groups meet biweekly for 1 hour. Sessions typically take place in the family room, with occasional use of other program areas to enrich the experience. Each meeting provides a structured environment where teens can openly discuss their emotions and challenges, helping them to process their grief in a supportive and understanding setting.
Specialized Grief Support
Our goal is to create an environment where teens feel heard, supported, and empowered as they navigate their grief. By providing a space for open conversation and peer support, we aim to help them build resilience and find comfort during this challenging time. Our programs cater to the unique needs of teens facing different types of loss:
Early Teens
For those who have lost a parent, sibling, or close friend, offering support tailored to the developmental needs of younger teens.
Teen
For older teens who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or close friend, providing a space to explore and share their grief with peers who understand their situation.
Teen Survivors of Suicide
For teens who have lost a parent, sibling, or close friend to suicide, offering specialized support to address the unique aspects of this type of loss and fostering a sense of connection and understanding.
