30 Years of Hope

Celebrating 30 Years of Healing, Hope, and Community

For three decades, Seasons Centre for Grieving Children has been a beacon of support for families and children navigating the unimaginable journey of loss. Since 1995, we’ve walked alongside thousands of children and their loved ones—helping them find their way through grief with compassion, understanding, and care.

Over 30 years, Seasons has grown from a small group of dedicated volunteers to a vital community resource offering programs and safe spaces for grieving children and families. Each story of healing, every smile of hope, and every moment of connection reminds us why this work matters.

As we celebrate this milestone, we invite you to reflect with us on the impact of 30 years—and to help us continue this essential work for the next generation

What 30 Years of Hope Means to Us

Over three decades, Seasons Centre for Grieving Children has been a place where hope blossoms amid grief. Here are some of the milestones that mark our journey together:

  • Since 1995, we have supported over 12,000 individuals going through the loss of a loved one.
  • Transitioned our support programming from divorce and traumatized children to grieving children as our community showed that is what they needed.
  • Purchased our first centre location in 2003 at 38 McDonald Street.
  • In 2019, we developed a specialized group for those who lost a loved one to a Substance Use-Related Death, as this was a rising need in our community.
  • Estimated 75,000+ volunteer hours contributed since 1995.
  • Built a community network of trained volunteers and professionals dedicated to childhood grief.

Stories of Hope: How Your Support Changes Lives

Every gift to Seasons Centre transforms a child’s journey through grief. Here are some of the powerful ways donor support has made a difference:

Meet Sabrina

“Seasons Centre gives participants community when they feel isolated and provides them with support. Having a place where you don’t have to worry about everyone else’s feelings and you can just feel and be helped through that truly changes how you grieve.”

Meet Erin

“I want to say a huge thank you to the community at Seasons Centre for supporting my children and myself after the death of their father. Seasons has been a huge support for us in providing an environment for my children to come to be with other children who have been through similar experiences because that was the hardest piece for them.

Coming here was unique and provided huge healing for my kids. It was wonderful for me to be around other parents who had experienced the loss of their partner.

We’re so grateful for all of the donors who help this program to be in existence because without this, we would not be doing as well as we are. Thank you.”

Thanks to donors like you, participants like Sabrina, Erin and her children can access grief peer support programs that help them heal in healthy, meaningful ways. Your generosity funds these vital programs that provide comfort not only to the children but to their entire families.

Bring Healing to 30 Grieving Children — Help Us Reach Our $48,000 Goal

This year, we’re setting our hearts on a powerful mission: To provide critical grief support to 30 more children.

You Can Change a Child’s Life

Each $1,600 donation provides a grieving child with access to life-changing programs—including peer-to-peer support, and a nurturing community—completely free to families. Your gift isn’t just a donation. It’s a lifeline. It’s a warm hug in a storm. It’s hope when a child feels lost.

Be a Light Every Month

Each monthly donation fuels continuous, dependable care. Your recurring gift helps us plan and expand programs, so every grieving child can access healing, no matter when they need us.

Just $30 a Month Helps Us In Providing:

  • Safe spaces for a child to attend grief peer support sessions
  • Supplies and snacks for the children attending programming
  • Support our volunteer training for our Buddy Grief Facilitator Volunteers
  • Outreach programs to the community

Why Your Help Matters More Than Ever

Grief can silence a child. It can isolate them. It can shape the course of their entire future. But your generosity gives them their voice back. It shows them they’re not alone. It reminds them that healing is possible. You Can Be the Reason a Child Finds Light in the Darkness.

With your help, we can raise $48,000 to ensure that 30 more children don’t have to carry their pain alone. Every dollar brings comfort, connection, and courage to a child who is hurting.

Together, let’s turn grief into growth—and sorrow into strength.
